Title

By Banafsheh Yaloodbardan, DDS
Wednesday, June 18, 2025.
17:00 – 20:00 CEST
Abstract
Managing challenging behavior in pediatric patients, such as resistance, fear, crying, or refusal to cooperate, remains among the most demanding aspects of professional care. This focused masterclass draws from pediatric hypnosis in dental settings to offer practical tools that help clinicians respond with empathy, structure, and psychological insight. While rooted in dentistry, the hypnotic techniques presented—such as indirect suggestions, calming language, and therapeutic storytelling—are widely applicable across other child-centered professions. Whether a dentist, psychologist, or pediatric therapist, you will learn strategies to reduce tension, enhance communication, and navigate emotional resistance during challenging moments.
Learning Objectives
1. Apply indirect hypnotic communication and therapeutic metaphors to manage anxiety and resistance in pediatric dental patients.
2. Identify and interpret nonverbal signals in children to guide real-time interaction and intervention during treatment.
3. Evaluate the appropriateness of hypnosis in various clinical scenarios and make informed decisions regarding alternative approaches when necessary.
