Dear Members,
Many of you have written to us reporting difficulties with registering for the Paris congress, submitting proposals to the congress and getting your promo codes for the special membership deal. Thank you for alerting us to the problems — both the Congress organizers and the ISH world headquarters have worked hard to correct problems encountered from dealing with so many Internet browsers. We are available to you — there is a real person in the office checking your emails and phone calls daily, who is ready with solutions to expedite your registration and membership. Do not hesitate to reach out to us, if you are experiencing any difficulty. We are looking forward to seeing you all in beautiful Paris in 2015 to share and learn together.
We have recently updated the website for potential new members so that anyone who is a member of an ISH Constituent Society can apply online. It is an easy form to complete, and once we have verified membership in the CS, membership is activated. Please tell your CS colleagues about this and invite them to join ISH. There are many benefits to membership all of which are listed on the website.
The Board members of ISH are looking forward to meeting together in person, a nice change from our regular video conferencing. Much can be accomplished with the electronic technology of our digital age, but as every hypnosis practitioner knows, relating in person provides a fuller experience. ESH has graciously offered us the opportunity to meet during its conference in Sorrento. With nature’s beauty to excite our senses we are sure to accomplish a great deal.
On the agenda for our next Board of Director’s meeting is finalizing the nominations of the candidates who will run for 2015-2018 term. Elections will occur later this fall, so please be sure you have logged into the website and updated your password- required for online voting. (www.ISHhypnosis.org).
Also on the agenda is choosing the location for the 21st ISH congress in 2018. Several strong bids have been submitted and the Board of Directors will soon decide which is best for the future of ISH.
By now you have all seen the excellent newsletter compiled by our new Editor, Katalin Varga, with additions built on the strong foundation laid by our previous editor, Consuelo Casula. If you have ideas or contributions for the newsletter, please send them to us (ishofficeusa@gmail.com).
During our time at the ESH in Sorrento, we will continue to build our video library of interviews with members, students, and the masters. Stop by to see our booth and give us an opportunity to add you to our video library.
The field of hypnosis is in an exciting stage of development, with new research coming out that is demonstrating its efficacy, and greater numbers of clinicians who are learning and developing new ways to apply hypnosis in their practice. Thank you for being a part of the ISH community that is witnessing and contributing to this amazing growth!
